Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bilingual Logistics and Inventory Specialist for a Japanese based manufacturing. This role is ideal for candidates proficient in Japanese and English, with a strong background in supply chain management, warehouse operations, and inventory control.

Responsibilities
Supplier Coordination (Asia Focus): Serve as the main point of contact for Asian suppliers, communicating in Japanese as necessary, to manage Purchase Order (PO) confirmation, production schedules, and shipment readiness.
Freight Execution: Independently select and manage freight forwarders to arrange international transport (ocean/air) using best practices for cost and transit time.
Customs Compliance: Manage all required import documentation and processes. Actively ensure adherence to U.S. customs regulations, and promptly resolve basic customs clearance issues in collaboration with the broker.
2. Inventory Management and Control
Inventory Optimization: Determine appropriate safety stock and reorder points. Execute the planning and execution necessary to prevent stockouts while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory (E&O).
System Integrity: Own the accuracy of inventory data within the ERP system. Lead cycle count programs, perform detailed variance analysis, and implement corrective actions to maintain a high level of system accuracy.
Warehouse Liaison: Work closely with the warehouse team to establish efficient receiving, storage, and material handling procedures that align with inventory system requirements.
3. Reporting and Process Improvement
Performance Analysis: Track and report on key logistics and inventory KPIs, including freight costs, lead times, inventory turns, and system accuracy.
Cost Management: Identify opportunities to reduce logistics costs (e.g., consolidation, route optimization) and present actionable recommendations to the manager.
Qualifications:
Experience: 3 to 10 years of professional experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, or International Procurement.
Bachelor's Degree
Language: Business Fluency in Japanese to effectively communicate and negotiate with Asian suppliers and the parent company.
