Geotechnical Field Technician

W2 Contract-to-Hire

Salary Range: $47,800 - $54,100 per year

Location: Sunnyvale, CA - Onsite Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Technicians will perform site observations of earthwork, utility backfill, drainage improvements, excavations, and foundation construction.
• Technicians will collect samples and perform tests to monitor compliance with construction specifications.
• Soil and asphalt testing
• Daily tasks include traveling to job sites using company vehicles and interacting with Project Engineers and Job Captains.
• Complete technical reports
• Coordinate with dispatch, providing constant communication when onsite.
• Coordinate with construction workers onsite.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree
• Experience with fieldwork in an academic setting is highly preferred.
• A Nuclear Gauge Density Certification ( is mandatory and must be obtained before the first day on the job.
• Steel-toe boots are mandatory.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving history are mandatory; you must be able to provide a driver history report to be considered.
• Able to walk outdoors all day; able to lift 50 lbs for extensive periods
• Able to work overtime; 50+ hours weekly.
• Customer service and team-oriented
• Good communication and writing skills
